The Rev. Elizabeth J. Bachelder Smith, M.Div, M.A. began serving Lisbon UMC in July, 2015.  As a clergy member of the New England Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, she has served churches in Mechanic Falls, Minot, North Anson, Madison, and Gardiner, Maine as well as in West Boylston, Massachusetts prior to coming to Lisbon.
Pastor Elizabeth holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Southern Maine, a Master of Divinity in church history and Biblical studies from Boston University School of Theology, and a Master of Arts in American and New Studies also from USM.  She currently serves as President of the New England United Methodist Historical Society.
She is married to Verne A. Smith and has two young adult sons, Matthew and Aaron, along with a four year-old terribly spoiled German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute named Callie.
